The Process

A property owner has three opportunities to appeal their property’s estimated fair market value.

 

1.      The first opportunity is by participating in an Informal Hearing with the County’s appraiser.

 

2.      The second opportunity is through a formal appeal to the County’s Board of Revision.

 

3.      The final opportunity (after the written Board of Revision decision has been received by the property’s owner) is filing a formal appeal to the Ohio Board of Tax Appeals.

Appeals : The Board of Revision Hearing

A Board of Revision appeal may only be filed on a property once during the six-year revaluation period.

 

A Board of Revision appeal (a D.T.E. Form 1: Complaint Against the Valuation of Real Property) may be filed beginning on January 1 and ending at the closing of the County Auditor’s Office on March 31. 

 

The D.T.E. Form 1 and all supporting documents must be inside the County Auditor’s Office by the close of that office’s business day on March 31.
