At the top of the list of services any company can offer its clients is information. This premise is one of the cornerstones upon which the Appraisal Research Corporation has functioned for over 25 years. In addition to offering a County Auditor some of the best mass appraisal work in the business, we also do our utmost to provide each auditor with information on other subjects affecting the Auditor such as:

• pending and new laws;
• cases affecting property valuation;
• articles from a variety of professional and general interest magazines; and
• notes from the CAAO district meetings.

We are also great believers in education- for Auditors as well as our own staff. ARC has the largest group of designated appraisers and designation candidates of any organization operating in the mass appraisal field. We believe this fact emphasizes our commitment to having qualified, educated staff serving our clients. Many of our appraisers are members of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO). The IAAO offers courses (often with CEU credits) of benefit to appraisers and auditors. Several of their initial courses are available for either home study or in a formal classroom setting. (Watch for a letter next week from Lynn Marshall, AAS, Ohio's IAAO membership chair. It will contain information about how IAAO can benefit you.)

One of the other services many Auditor's find useful is our consulting work. Auditors have asked us to:

• monitor other mass appraisal companies’ work;
• defend values in State Courts;
• create public relations programs;
• design staff training programs;
• provide guidance in writing their revaluation specifications and RFPs;
• revise contracts for revaluations, triennial updates, and new construction;
• design an efficient office organization and layout; and
• assist in selecting filing and computer systems.
