If you want to compare another residential property to yours to see if they are assessed equitably, you need to compare the "basics" listed in this chart. These items are the primary valuing tools utilized by the County in determining the market value of real estate.
In the first column, list the information for your property as it’s shown on the property record card at the County Auditor’s Office. In the second and third columns, put the information as shown on the property record cards for the properties you are comparing to yours.
When you’ve completed your list, take particular notice of each property’s (lot’s) size and the amount of square feet of heated/air conditioned living area for each dwelling, and each dwelling’s exterior features. It’s amazing how much difference there can be between apparently identical houses!
